How are you supposed to find good team members?

How are you supposed to find good team members?

Every time I play with good people that are well-mannered, I add them and play some more with them.
It turns out, that a lot of these people (almost everybody) isn’t really as good as my first impression was about them. (Probably the fault of MM in the first place?)

It would help if there would be a ladder or some sort of indication that shows what skill level they have.
This way, it would be a lot easier to find good teammates and create a actual team.

Guilds are also pretty useless since you can’t see anybody’s rating.
With all this privacy it makes the entire thing even more hard.

When I played HoN I had around 4 – 5 different teams that were all really great and fun to play with.
In dota2, i merely have 2, not even that active.

I’ve actually also been having this problem of late. Tried to recruit a few people into one of my teams and without any indication of their skill levels it was soon apparent they they were well out of them comfort zone and I generally felt bad about telling them they needed more practise. It didn’t really seem fair on them.

Also, yes a ladder system or similar would help with this.

You reach top live matches and get added by Dendi. Beside that, you’re expect to carry/support/gank and coach any set of team mates you might find. Because you know, people don’t have a general understanding of dota. Mcd dota 2 team finder They just read guides and that is it. So that guy who you think fared well, is just someone following a guide and doing the expect against gullible enemies. Once you start to notice that, MAYBE you can try to adjust your perception of “first impression on good people”.

Being well-mannered has NO correlation with playing skill. Communication (at the level people expect) in pubs is just bossing people around. Nobody checks the Nature’s prophet inventory when they see him tping into a 400 hp tower. They ping because “teamfight is about to happen”,etc. It’s so hard to fight 4×5 against an antimage who got a 30 minutes battlefury and a mask of madness void. Shit like that. Get used to it.

I’m sorry Valve, but the only way I know how to coach players is with tough love.

dev. dota2.com is about development, if you want to QQ about your last match (trust me, matchmaking algorithm has nothing to do with it): Click here

It is thousand times easier to find viable teammates in HoN than it is in Dota. Mcd dota 2 team finder
I have experience with building teams and so on, played in Starladder a few times as well as participating and winning smaller tournaments in EU and South Africa with teams in dota. Mcd dota 2 team finder
People don’t always have enough time and come and go. Finding a replacement for them in Dota is incredibly hard. Having to tell people that they are not good enough is like firing someone, it’s neither fun for the already existing team members or the individual(s) that are being told they need more practice. All because I can’t see their skill level at all and have to play a few matches with them just to tell them that they’re not good enough.

It would be 10 times easier for people like Dendi as well to simply check the top 100 ranks in the ladder than aren’t already in competitive and add them.

Not having a ladder cripples the ability to enjoy dota2 as a team-game.
It also makes it incredibly hard to form new teams as I’ve explained in my OP.
