But as in SC2 you can use a “solid” or “safe” build (for example, FFE is a really cool and safe way to open in low level matches, no matter what the other player do), I want to think that in Dota 2 there are some line ups that are solid, without meaning it will win a match for you just for picking it, but it will allow you to “build” on it and start developing variations as your team starts to work better.

So, which line up would you recommend for a team that has experimented and no experimented players?

PD: yes yes, I’ve been playing hon and dota from like 4 or 5 years, I’m not an expert but I know there isn’t a “super lineup” that can win a match just because you pick the right heroes. But I think is easier to teach a team to play one way, repetitively, and expect some progress so later you can jump in the limitless posibilities that dota offers you.

Your draft is really gonna depend on the opposing team’s draft so it’s not as easy as saying *this hero lineup* is going to be a good or safe hero lineup for every game.

That’s the safest and solidest way to draft.

Push at 20 minutes, force teamfights as much as possible

Gather up mid as soon as you can, and push down tier 1 and 2 towers (dont blow everyting on the tier 1). Then shift lanes, and repeat the process until they dont have any towers outside their base. From here, you should have a strong gold lead, so either contain them while troll farms their jungle, or push in.

Often times the opponents wont gather up to defend the tier 3 on mid, and you can get a rax in under 10 minutes, effectively ending the game.

The KotL+Phantom Lancer combination is very solid early game and PL is the hardest carry late game once he gets tons of illusions up. Avoid big fights until PL is stacked, split push and win the game.

I have found that at a low level (mine QQ) what works best is not picking the strongest hero to complement your draft, but rather picking the hero that complements your draft that your friends can play the best. Try to get a plan for the game (agressive tri is great for that since people know their goals, the same stands for pushy or fast rosh lineups) and fit heroes your teammates master into that plan.

This is what I do with my team of IRL friends. I play a lot more than them and would love to do higher level stuff, but we do best when I pick the heroes that I have seen them play the most–despite the fact that we end up with some pretty ugly teams.

maybe get a few heroes with auras/summons to complement this build, such as:
lycan
beastmaster
furion
doombringer
etc

Thank you again for your answers.

Try and avoid picking mid heroes that are likely to need assistance because you’re supports probably are incompetent at ganking effectively, so heroes like QoP/TA/Magnus that can either dominate a lane with ease or safely get what they need are great. I’d also suggest offlaners like BH/DS over ones like sylla or furion because multiple units is a recipe for disaster

Hard Carry : definitely phantom lancer, high potential and built-in escape, very easy to play.
Supports : I’d say Lich & Lion and the two that are the most easy to play while being really usefull
Secondary carry : either Nature’s prophet (if you want to jungle) or Juggernaut ( built-in heal + easy to use and powerful ult . and katana )
Initiator : Enigma ( Junglling) or Magnus.

Avoid trilanes as it’s not useful if your supports don’t know how to stack/pull, stick to 2-2-1 or 2-1-1-Jungle.

But really it depends on what your teammates enjoy playing, fun is an important part of the performance.

4/5th: Lion, Lich, CM, Nyx, KotL, SK, tide
3rd: windrunner, ds, ck
Mid: Puck, Batrider, Magnus
hard carry: PL, AM, Sven

Comments:
the 4/5ths are basically the heroes I played the most my first year. Lich is really noob friendly, CM has her aura that she can just sit back with, lion has awesome disable and good ulti, Nyx is just great, once you learn to aim illuminate kotl is easy to play (as long as you stay back in teamfights). SK has a great stun, but can be tricky to get his ulti off in the right way, tide is a monster after level 6, and basically only require manaboots and a bd.

3rd pos is kind of hard. windrunner is great for new players with a great stun, aoe nuke and a decent escape. ds is hard at first, until you realize how agressive you can be but once you notice that youll love it. go for either of these two if you have a solo hardlane, the newer the player the more I reccomend wr. if you go 2-1-2 I’d always go for ck, its a standing joke that all you need are bracers and you own everything.

mid is my least played position but I do love playing puck. really noob friendly, although a bit squishy, with his “double escape”. kind of bad attack animation if you ask me. batrider is basically “spam sticky napalm, harass out of lane”. magnus is pretty durable and has an all around great skillset.

hard carry is a role Ive never been comfortable in, mostly because I suck at lasthitting. but as mentioned before; PL has a great escape and is fucking unstoppable lategame, but he does take some planning in pushing lanes. if you go AM choose a good lasthitter on him, you need the BF quick unless you want to def for 50 minutes while AM tries to farm. Sven is really noob friendly, but he lacks escape so good warding is a must for him.

Now I’m not a great player but I feel like these are the best heroes to combine in a lineup in low level MM
