Why should you buy a key that has a chance to get you an item that WORTHS MUCH MORE THAN THE KEY, really, why?

Come on girls, try to use your lil’ heads. It’s gambling. You have a chance to get back much more in worth than the price of key.

And dropping items are NOT FREE. If you don’t want to wait for random drop, you buy them for MONEY. Get your facts straight.

See, that’s not entirely true. At no point whatsoever did Valve say “these items will remain exclusive”. That was a trick that traders used to make the items more valuable, and it was silly of people to fall for it when, if they took the time to think about how unfair it would be to the item makers, it was fairly obvious that they wouldn’t be exclusive.

Neither I use it. I have no frickin idea about the gender of people. Your argument makes no sense.

A customer doesn’t have a right to demand ANYTHING about the seller’s business policy, practices or rules. They didn’t promise you they won’t be available for sale afterwards. Why would have them done such a stupid thing. Try to think: Cosmetic items gain money when SOLD. Both to to Valve, AND THE CREATOR! If they put creators’ items in a chest ONLY? that means the creators won’t receive anything from sales, as there will be NO sales. And sales are one of the main points of the Workshop. Most people make items not only for fun but also in the hope of receiving some pocket money from them.

So once again, your argument is invalid.

It would only be sexism if I apply negative prejudice over female players. But, as I have said, I don’t know the gender of the commenters. Why I used the term “girls” is because they exhibit the behavioral pattern of a 5 year old girl whining about mom letting their sister play with their Barbie house. Regardless of gender. They whine and drama about Valve doing what anyone with a slight idea about business would, and what Valve NEVER said they won’t.

And I really find it ridiculous that after Valve let them own and play Dota FOR FREE, and only asks money for extra features – which in the same time are mostly available through random drop as well – and they start whining and demanding. Do you people really think Valve grows money on trees? Do you want to buy Dota for 50 EUROS instead? Sure, go ahead. I am enjoying it being free.

Don’t buy things from the shop -> No problems. Simple as that.

Summer stash items are now sold in the store.

The said-to-be limited Sithil’s Summer Stash items; Ice Crystal Bow, Demon Claive, Wheel of fortitude, Hammer of Holy Words, Hammer Time, Deathwielder and the fugly Juggy mask are now sold in the Dota Store. This should also mean that they’re dropped by the game now.

Not only that, but the items we got from the crate didn’t even get upgraded to Strange Versions . WTF I feel I’ve been backstabbed by Valve.

I feel that Valve should at least upgrade the ones we’ve got from crates to Strange Versions.

They didn’t add tiny skin and pudge hook tho 😛

Yes and for the next year summer sale, everyone can just wait for it to end and be available in the store or be droppable. its like no point in going for sale

If you came from TF2, it was expected that things in the Summer crates became drop items / purchasable in the store.

Nothing wrong with the move at all.

You still get it cheaper (2.49 USD) plus had the chance to get an Unusual (x10 – x70 profit), Vintage Timebreaker (x3 profit) and the Ice Tiny skin (x2 profit).

TLDR: Look at Valve’s patterns in TF2 and expect the same in Dota 2. No ample reason to whine about it.

Yes we want it is upgraded to strange item

So what is the meaning of buying keys in a limited time? Since the item is droppable then it is free so how much profit do you get?

Agree, I thought they were limited edition thats why I jumped on the bandwagon – I guess I jumped in too quickly

I bought the keys thinking, “Man these items will be worth a lot in a few months.” I am so disappointed by the decision to make them buy/drop items. That is pretty underhanded. Valve kind of led us on when they said the chests (and/or items) would have limited availability. I think it would only be fair to make the old, chest-dropped items Strange; otherwise I doubt as many people will be willing to cough up money for “limited edition” chests in the future; I know I won’t, and neither will a lot of my friends.

It would be nice to have them labelled as Strange so we can put modifiers on ’em.

I’m new to the Valve items system in general and the only thing I really dislike is that I can’t use my Strange Modifiers on items that aren’t Strange. It makes no sense to me and it also makes me wonder if it’s ever worth buying items in the store.
