Please do something about the bad manner pauses.
Recently iґve been having lots of games where either the enemy team or my own teammates would abuse one of the best and most helpfull features we have in DOTA.
Pubs that are most of the times in stacks of 3 or more will use pause at any moment in the game to just trash talk/complain/mock/etc.
You are getting first blooded? pause and talk on all chat
You are getting killed by 2 or more heroes? pause and complain on all chat
Killing someone? pause and talk on all chat
And the list goes on, sure i can always unpause but its really annoying when more than one of the players keep doing it constantly.
I propose bad manner pauses become a reportable reason, and the punishment not being muting or low prio, the punishment could be removing the privilege of pausing if abused.
Pausing should be a privilege and something everyone respects, not something to make the opponents/team waste time on a meaningless action.
I agreed with this. There’s something must be done so that both sides of players cannot simply PAUSE or RESUME the game.
We have to know that player can be emotional or change mood when gaming. It’s more preferable if the PAUSE/RESUME is controlled by a system and not player.

This actually sounds like communication abuse. Just report them for that and move on. I don’t think removing the ability to pause would do anything really.
i agree, would love to see an idea like that implemented.
just lol, how can you expect Valve to implement some magic stick to prevent so called ‘bad manner pause’ when even players cant agree on the definition of it?
Easy fix that used to work fine in Dotalicious: 2 or 3 pauses per player, 30 seconds max each. If a user happens not to reconnect, then abandon, talk to your ISP or get a better line.

The concept should be very similar to how a process runs in our system. We should know whenever a process is running in our computer system, there will be program counter. So why player cannot have a counter too? Each player will gain 1 counter in every 30 minutes. The game system suppose to automatically force the game to pause if a player from either side is disconnected from the game and that player will lose his counter. The generating of his counter will be restarted once he reconnected back into the game.
We try and get some scenarios:
Eg 1: Blue player disconnects, the game will starts to pause for 5 minutes. After waiting for 3 minutes, that player reconnects back and his counter will regenerated for 1 in 30 minutes time.
Eg 2: Teal player disconnects, the game will starts to pause for 5 minutes but after waiting 2 and 1/2 minutes, green player disconnects as well. Therefore, the time of pausing will be added up to become 7 and 1/2 minutes.
Eg 3: Pink player intentionally disconnects(spam DC/recon) or AFK. This is something to do with majority reports by the team respectively(so far I don’t understand why Dota 2 report is limited to 3 reports only per week, should be unlimited for majority of a team to auto-kick a spoiler from their team on the spot).
If you have other scenario to find any weakness of this, please do add in. IMO, if a player is really serious for his game, he won’t simply turn on his PC and start Dota 2 without checking. I always check my PC and line stability before I start my Dota 2 match. Very rare to disconnect unless Dota 2 crashed, Steam/Dota2 server high traffics. no electric current @@’
