dota 2 arcana item drop rate question
I have almost 2000 games played in dota 2 over two years, and I’ve never got an arcana item, so, I was wondering, what is the drop rate ?
It’s not like I’m playing dota 2 for items, I played dota in warcraft without them for 5 years or so, but items are nice addition to the game so that’s why I’m interested.
U are playing a 5card poker, u have a royal flash but for some reason u’ve decided to exchange all the cards. What is your chance to get a royal flash with this move.
Wrong annotation. The correct annotation should be this:
You are playing poker, you have the chance of getting straight flush as all 5 cards that you need for that is in the deck. However, how unlikely could you get a straight flush?
Now, according to http://dota2.stats. tf/item/4794/Fier. _of_the_Slayer, there are 0.008% or 1 in 12,245 of inventory items are lina’s arcana. Dota 2 items price drop However that just 21.5 percent of the all the inventory items (active and empty. 78.5 percent of inventory are private inventory). Hence it is safe to assume the actual change of getting an arcana drop is greater than 1 in 50,000 which is similar to the probability of getting a straight flush in texas holdem (straight flush prob: 1 in 72,000)
With that, I guess you know why although it is possible to get arcana drop (just like getting royal flush), it is almost impossible to get 1 through dropping system. Hope this helps.
I have never gotten a mythical or arcana or anything over a rare with over 2000 games.
It’s not completely random. If you have a lot of items or good items, you won’t get mythical or arcana and you have less chance for drop.

First of all arcana has the rarest drop rate in game its 35 bucks in store ffs its a special item. and your sentence is so wrong drop chance is completely random I have a friend with 6 arcana also hooks, tb’s, bf’s, ti2 ti3 couriers. (trader) got arcana drop in game. Also I never got a even myhtical item drop in like 1500 games why op complaining anyway? just get a job and buy it from store. with your purchase you can also help the company developing their games and servers
you dont have to spam 3 times
Arcana has the lowest drop rate of all, as stated above. but it is easy to be reminded that it is TOTALLY random. there is no such thing that an item’s drop rate depends on the rarity of the items you own. in that case traders wont even have a reason to play the game for items anymore, would they? however, by saying that it is totally random, it is proven that even if you play 1000000000000000 games, there is no guaranteed chance of getting the arcana hair. you can opt to buy it from the store (waste of money imo – as you can get a lot of sets for other heroes) or just play as usual and you might get lucky! it’s good that you enjoy the game tho! arcana hair isnt really the greatest item – had it once and traded it away – mainly because it gets boring after a certain period of time! and nobody really enjoys playing lina too. save your cash and get another item instead! pl’s diffusal and am’s mantas are nice, as they get shiny if you buy their items 😛
we go blue in the face arguing that item drops are completely random and then go blue in the face arguing that matchmaking is rigged against long win streaks.
Dota 2 items price drop
Now I’m sure most of you are aware of this. This really is a problem for gamers who trade a lot and have invested a lot of time in it too.
[KEYS]
1 Dota 2 key used to be equal to 3 rares
then it became 5-6 rares
and now it is 10.
Keys used to be the same in trade value like 1D2K=1TF2K=1CSGOK
now it has come to a point where Dota 2 keys are starting to become useless.
This is highly attributable to the keys becoming irrelevant to new treasures therefore its starting to lose its trade value, old treasures don’t yield anything useful right now, hopefully Valve could do something about it.
Heck why don’t they just make a universal key that could open any treasure, maybe even to a point where the key could open treasures in other games, namely, CS:GO and TF2. If that’s stretching it, then at least they should have a sort of a key exchange where you could exchange your keys with the same quantity to keys to CS:GO or TF2.
[SETS AND ITEMS OF RARITY]
The meaning of “RARITY” is starting to fade away. Ask yourself, is it really rare that many people have it? that’s supposed to be common.
A commo knowledge here, whether true or false, is that item drops occur in chance the same goes to openning a treasure. Now the question is, how do we know that Valve is actually keeping track in the number of items that comes out, the quantity affects the rarity. To further illustrate what I’m trying to say here’s an example –
Say there are 5,000 treasure chests, 1 per person, now they open the chests. Of course, with the old treasures in mind, you’d expect most of them would get Rares, a few would get Mythicals, and fewer would get Genuine status Mythicals, Immortals or whatever. Most of them got Rares, and a bunch of lucky people got those Mythicals now, what happens if another 5,000 chests are opened, the quantity of items would increase accordingly. Could this be affecting the perceived trade value?
Many of you kept a few good sets maybe last year or the year before. It felt really great having something of value, how much is it now? Sets that were worth 4 keys went down to only 3 good rares. What happened?
Dumping new sets in the game is not the problem! (if that’s what you were thinking). The problem is people no longer have interest in what you have because something new came out. It would be great if Valve found a way to keep the old sets still worth having maybe upgrading their RARITY status as it gets older and fewer and fewer people have it.
A problem that occured was the “Sale” on the in-game Dota 2 store. They discounted some sets which drove the prices down. This affected us in a negative way, the set we got in trade has no longer the same value it once had. and that happened less than a month.
The prices of rares in the market has went down from an average price of around $0.50-$0.70 to nearly $0.10 and Valve’s pumping in of new items doesn’t really help in keeping the prices up.
[TONS OF JUNK IN THE MARKET]
Its a problem for Valve to handle this. or is it?
You have there in the market, old treasure chests, a million commons, some uncommons and a bunch of other stuff that no one will ever want. How do they handle this to keep things as rare as they need be?
I say Valve should actually “buy back” these things. Come on its not like it costs a lot, $0.01 really? They don’t get anything back with that you know, even if its a million junk like that it wouldn’t really hurt since Valve is earning a lot through commission sales in the community market and in-game purchases.
This actually might be a solution to a problem they’re not even addressing. Think about it, it solves the problem with keeping old sets – this way you’re sure that your item or set will get more rare as time passes. It might even reach the same status as that Immortal Ursa set :3
I’m not mad or anything, I just think its stupid that everything we have is losing value, COME ON, there’s no real depreciation here since this thing is INTANGIBLE. You check intangibles for impairment and or base it at FAIR VALUE, not loss due to depreciation 😛
To be fair, the community market is a real help when you want to buy something you want in the Steam store. And I’m thankful to Valve for that 🙂
