Dota 2 both ancients destroyed crossword
Dota 2 both ancients destroyed crossword
not a bug, feature.
The game is coded in a way so it keeps track of the raidant ancient as a trigger event for victory.
If radiant goes down no matter what happens dire wins. The game only checks IF radiant_throne_standing=1 and if its 1 then radiant wins if its 0 then dire wins.

idk if you are serious or trying hard to be smart. How do they know if dire throne was destroyed by that equation.
clearly the radiant ancient went down first. there’s no way it was at 100% the exact same time. and so, the game saw the radiant ancient go down first.
that would be a crappy way to lose, though. but a fantastic way to win
What @Wasted_46 says is quite an intersting stuff and I believe it is exactly that way, even without checking myself on dotadev. When two ancients are destroyed at the exact same time, game has to decide somehow, who wins. And obviously, the game is not a human, it has to be scripted some way to make a decision and the latter seems to be an easy (not very fair, though) option. What might be more fair than this system is game using some randomizing technique to decide on this matter, but I’m not a computer engineer so I can’t say if this is really possible and furthermore, the situation when two teams win at the exact same time is so so rare that I can’t see devs discussing more about this. Unless it happens at TI Grand Final.
Nontheless, you made quite a nice hold here, OP!
EDIT1: Defintely post this to dota wtf, though.
EDIT2: @Paul Blart Yeah, it´s interesting that dire ancient destroyed was written down first in the changelog, while Dire got the win. But imo, what was written down in the changelog first =/= what game thinks happened first

if i was the coder, instead of randomizing this i would go for the dps calculation on ancients for previous 5 sec and that way u can assume the damage on each ancient on next sec. It wont be accurate as a unit can die in that interval but it will be more fair.
after some thoughts i think randomizing will be more fair than this idea. Dota 2 both ancients destroyed crossword nvm
