Damage Resistance

Damage Resistance is a buff that reduces incoming damage from all sources. It works independently from other mechanics such Damage Block, Armor, and Magic Resistance.

Stacking [ edit ]

Damage resistance stacks additively with itself in most cases. For example: 80% resistance + 20% resistance = 100% total resistance
Likewise, damage resistance will also be directly subtracted by Damage Amplification. For example: 80% resistance – 30% amplification = 50% total resistance

Special Cases [ edit ]

Borrowed Time, Ghostship, and Mana Shield stack multiplicatively with other damage resistance abilities. For example: 80% resistance × 50% resistance = 90% total resistance

Borrowed Time and Ghostship do not stack with each other.

Damage Absorption [ edit ]

Damage Absorption reduces damage from all sources, but only absorbs a set amount of damage. It absorbs damage after reductions.

Stacking [ edit ]

The amount absorbed does not stack. The highest amount of absorption is used instead. It also wastes the weaker absorption buff without absorbing any damage.

Example: Aphotic Shield and Living Armor are both on a target ally. The ally is hit, using Aphotic Shield’s greater absorption amount. It does not add Living Armor’s amount, and the Living Armor instance is used up anyway.

Damage Immunity [ edit ]

Damage Immunity completely prevents damage from occurring. It fully stacks with other sources of damage immunity. This works differently from invulnerability as the hero is still vulnerable to spells and their effects.
